CAMPFIRE MAVEN DRESS

It's not really customary for me to post an outfit of a dress I've made before it's even for sale in my shop....but, I'm breaking all the rules today! Actually, I'm in need of your opinion! When I first made this sweet dress with a cutout back, geometric design, and pretty summery hues I knew I wanted it to have ties. Sort of like a children's romper would (I made this dress 100 percent inspired by a romper Dakota has actually!) anyway, when I put the ties on I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. They were a bit bulky, and stuck out of my jean jacket in a weird way. And since I know everyone who buys this dress will be paring it with a jean jacket...nudge, I cut off the ties and added buttons. But I don't know if I love it either. So that is my dilemma.What would you  prefer to see on it? Buttons, ties, or snaps? 

PRAIRIE DREAMS DRESS

It's time for the second installment of 'how I wore it'! You can see that this dress is one of the newer dresses in the collection, and I am in love with the color. I just paired it with some dainty floral tights, fringe booties (surprise, surprise) and a pop of color with a coral belt.

Angela and I took these photos close to two months ago, and I am amazed by my lack of sweaters or coats in February.  I'm amazed because currently the temperature is in the 40s...in late March. It seems like this year we might just skip right over Spring and head into Summer. Which, I honestly don't mind. I love the sweltering temperatures of summer here. But it would be nice to have a few weeks of windows open weather and the renewed, organizing, hopeful feelings that come along with it!

PIE DATE DRESS

I thought it would be fun to show how I wear the dresses from my new collection. This is the Pie Date Dress, and it's my favorite, second only to the Ring Leader Dress. It's super sunny, perfect for spring, and also very versatile. I layered mine with my favorite collared lace shirt, and a few necklaces, but it would be just as  cute on its own. Can I be honest? I think it's weird to self promote. I also think it's impossible to get your name/your business out there without talking about it. I'm trying to learn that being proud of myself and wanting to show what I have to offer isn't as wrong/annoying/bothersome as I make it out to be. I think that showing different ways to style my dresses is okay, and is in the realm of self promotion I can accept. I'll be styling all the pieces from my shop here on my blog.
