We took these pictures last Sunday, and  boy was it hot! Just being outside for a few minutes had us sweating. It was a mistake wearing tights, for sure. If only that dress wasn't so short, I would have left them at home! Oh, girl problems. Since we're talking about girl problems, can I just say how much I hate wearing sleeveless dresses + shirts? My arms bum me out, and even though Angela and I have been doing the kettle-bell workout 3-4 times a week, I'm seeing no results, which is bumming me out even more. But it's so hot already that I can't not wear them.  On a happy note, I am IN LOVE with this scarf. I've probably worn it every day since I bought it. xo, Meghan

Ps- It's been raining all day, and it turns out, there's a tropical storm coming right for Tallahassee. Yikes! We need the rain, but the area we live in is prone to flooding. We haven't experienced any issues yet (in the two years we've lived there), and I hope it stays that way!

What we Wore: Candy Stripers + Cherries

I'm surprised that we even made these pictures happen! For starters, everyone was sick. Angela was nauseous, my voice was gone, and Dakota had a small reoccurring bout of her nasty bug. (I'm talking throwing up and diarrhea everywhere, y'all) My camera wasn't working properly, and it was HOT. By far, though, the fact that we went on a little trip to Gainesville the night before to see Lucero play and then got towed at 2 in the morning takes the cake for reasons why we shouldn't have taken these pictures! We got home around 5 A.M., and had to be up by 9 to make it to our churches on time. Saying we were beat is an understatement!

We made it out their, with my silly voice, her sick tummy, and sweaty brows, but we made it. I couldn't miss the opportunity to take pictures of this dress that I made one night while Bean was out of town! This is actually the third dress I've made, and the best so far! Something about it I just love. I made two of the three dresses while Bean was out of town (crazy what I can do with a little determination, a Harry Potter marathon, and no distractions!) but this one is my favorite of the two. I thrifted this sheet on Friday and by Friday night it was washed, cut, pinned and ready to be transformed! It's easily one of my favorite dresses I own now!

I had plans to post these on Monday, but a certain little girl did something to my computer. The color was totally off, think orange limbs + faces. Not cool. Bean fixed it last night though, so glad! xo, Meghan + Angela

What we Wore: Milkmaid Braids

So here we both are, Sunday lunch, both wearing the 'milkmaid' braids. Something we've both worn before, yet, haven't worn in at least a year. And on this day, we both decide to wear them...not knowing that while we are pinning our own braids, the other is probably simultaneously pinning hers. I tell you, this is the stuff that best friends are made of! We do this so often it's hilarious. I can't tell you how many times we get the questions "are you guys twins?" "are y'all actual sisters" on Instagram. I joked that we should actually start calling each other the night before and seeing what we are wearing, so we can make sure we don't show up actually looking like twins! I'm just lucky that I have her, she gets me! Obviously!

Taking outfit photos together is something we both really enjoy + really we only get to do it once a week: on Sundays. So we spend time thinking of where we want to take them, how we want them to look, and so on. Like I said we really enjoy it, so we put time into it! Well this week we wanted to try and take pictures somewhere we hadn't ever taken pictures before. Angela remembered she had a friend in high school who's grandparents lived right down the street from her mom, in Lloyd. We drove down the street and trudged through some overgrown bushes, grass and lots (I mean I was near panic mode from the amount) of spider webs to snap some pictures on this porch.

Sad, but crucial part to this story, both of the grandparents passed away probably close to 8 years ago. As we were taking pictures + watching our steps -both because the porch was collapsing on one side, and because of the amount of webs and nests- Angela noticed that the windows had pretty lace curtains hanging in them. We opened the screen door to peek in the window and and we were surprised to find that all of their stuff was still in the house. We tried to open the front door but it was locked. So we went around back, to find that the door was wide open, the floor was almost non existent, and everything was still in it's place throughout the whole house. We  carefully tiptoed through the porch to the kitchen and we both were immediately heart-broken. Their entire kitchen was intact. Adorable tin cans + soup bowls lined the open shelves. Their dining room table was scattered with jars, boxes, papers, and life. It was clear someone had broken in and tried to take whatever was of  value, but really they left everything that was of any value, just the pretty treasures of their everyday life. We didn't go too far into the house, because we obviously weren't dressed to go exploring + the house was really dark. We did go far enough in to notice that each room had different lace curtains, and that someone had written 'I love you' and stuck it on the door frame. So sweet + sad.

What we Wore: Twin Status

I feel the need to explain myself (er, ourselves) in these photos. We both knew we were going to wear our opposite lace dresses. (See, Angela has the dress I have on in cream, and I have the dress she has on in blue) We didn't want to be wearing the exact same lace dress, but we both bought theses dresses on our trip to the beach, and had yet to break them in. So when we both show up to church on Sunday wearing lace dresses, well that was a-okay...but wearing the same belt, oxfords + tights combo was just too funny. Both of the guys asked simultaneously "did y'all do that on purpose?" haha. I guess that's a sign that you are truly best friends, right? I think so!
We drove to this park and took our bikes with us to ride around. Angela made the comment that I looked like I should be in an Urban Outfitters catalog, and really the whole day felt like that! Sunny, pretty wild flowers, pretty dresses, pretty girls, and bike riding. At least that's what they make their days seem like! ;) Also, it's fairly (read: very) weird when a grown man and his teenage son ride up to you on their dirt bikes and say "so are y'all doing some photography?" "it's beautiful out here, let me know if you want me to be in any of the pictures" and then rides away. Yes, very awkward.
