It's been kind of quite over here this week. I had big plans for what I wanted to blog about, including a super cute 'what we wore' post (don't believe me, I'll show you my notebook!) but I didn't even crack my computer open.
Today was really great though! Dakota and I took our time getting up this morning, and when we were good and ready we went over and got our neighbors and headed off for a fun day! We took a trip up to Thomasville because there was a really charming bookstore that had these cards I had to get for my bridesmaids. We walked around the quaint little town, browsing stores, finding treasures in the antique stores, (read: six yellow + lace matching hankies!) and trying to simultaneously watch two way-past-their-nap toddlers and eat our Mexican lunches. The ride home was filled with sounds of two napping kiddos and good conversation. As soon as we got home, we had to meet my mom to look for more wedding treasures! It was a pretty great day. I'm currently in bed, tucked under a ton of blankets, eating a drumstick ice cream cone, watching UP and snuggin' with my favorite guy. This day just keeps getting better and better!

Photo Challenge Updates: week 10
52 Weeks of Instax: Do you see those awesome boxes holding all of my craft stuff? Pretty cool, right?
You might remember this post of my craft room. I have since then made a few changes, and I'm so happy about them! I originally asked Bryan, my step-dad, to build these boxes for our craft show this past Saturday. We used them in the show, and I really liked them. Then when I came home and was putting all the things from the show up, I put these on the table and instantly fell in love. It clears up SO much space, and my table doesn't feel like such a giant pack rat mess anymore. I know exactly where everything is and, even thought I am a fan of open storage (if I don't see it, I probably won't use it!), having everything on the table piled up around each other was both visually unappealing and hard to access the things I needed. Now everything has a home and I can still see everything, it just looks a lot more put together. I'm in love. I just need to convince Bryan to build two more boxes for our DS inventory, so I don't ever have to take these off my table!

-Scheduled our Engagement Pictures, finally! Now if only weather will permit.
-Tried on Wedding Dresses for the first time!
-Finally nailed down a guest list...I think.
-Did a lot of wedding stuff, apparently! ^
-Watched this hilarious video, and seriously, if you have Instagram...YOU JUST KNOW
-Had a strong urge to ride my bike - it's so warm lately, perfect weather for bike riding!
-Ordered some pretty things, from the super sweet Abi of Vanilla and Lace. She's having a sale, check it out!
-Entered this AMAZING giveaway, and had so much fun reading everyone's stories!

Deliciously Sew at Mule Day

I'm partial, but I think this is the.cutest.booth ever! What do you think? This past Saturday DS packed up and headed an hour out of town at 6 in the morning to Mule Day. Apparently, it's a big thing. The booth next to us was from Iowa! I had only ever been once before, and it was nothing like I remembered. When we got there it was pitch black, and freezing cold. We tried our best to set up quickly, but our hands were pretty numb. (Note to self: bring gloves to next event!) Mule Day houses over 450 booths and draws in between 60,000 and 90,000 people. Wow, that's a lot! I'm pretty sure there were at least 60K. I saw so many people. If that isn't enough exposure, I don't know what is!
The Facebook fans had a little incentive and received a free gift if they mentioned liking us on Facebook. Free cakepops! We improved upon our old display times like a thousand. It is much more visually appealing, and we didn't have any grown men chasing bows across fields this time. I'd say that is a plus! I'm sure the guys would too! We added a lot of cuteness to our inventory for this show: onesies, necklaces, more headbands, mini + regular plushies, chalkboards. We added another flavor of whoopie pie to this event (vanilla with chocolate filling) and boy could I tell you a million and one stories about that! I'll just say for the record, YES, you can eat them. NO, they aren't ceramic hamburgers. and NO, they aren't magnets. We're already planning on how we can make the DS booth even better for the next show we have. We have about a month to perfect it even more. The future of Deliciously Sew includes opening an etsy and continuing with craft shows and fairs. It's slowly growing more and more, and that's so exciting!

Today is all about pretty dresses! I love day dreaming about outfits, especially with dresses. Girls love dresses, right? Right! These particular dresses have me *swooning*
This pretty dress from Vanilla & Lace is so darling!
I'm not sure what it is about this dress, but I love it! I think it's the big white buttons + white trim. So mod!
This dress would be so perfect for New Years Eve! Sparkly + Swirly perfection!
This dress from The Velvet Bird is so so magical! I've already requested at least one of her dresses be under the tree this Christmas!
I'm loving the new Modcloth lookbook, but I especially love this dress. Perfect for some coffee and a trip to the library!
Find any dresses you like? I hope so! Today is going to be another busy one! Tonight we're going to the Greek Food Festival, and it's one of my favorite things. I look forward to it all year Spanakopita and almond cookies, here I come! Once we go to the Greek Food, the Holidays are in full swing around these parts. Eeep, I'm so excited!!

Busy Bee!
Today has been a busy one. Dakota and I ran errands all day, making stops at Micheal's, Target, Bed Bath + Beyond, and Walmart. Phew! But oh no, the doing didn't stop there. We made vanilla whoppie pies and pumpkin whoopie pies. Spray painted some stuff, and then spray painted even more stuff. Made some soup, and then ate it. I made an owl plush while Dakota was napping, and she's still kind of sad that the fun went on without her ;) But when she woke up to her surprise, we still had more to do! I kind of have "should" be doing right now.
I'm telling you all of this, not in hopes that you'll feel sorry for me (because it was such a fun day!) but that you'll wonder, even ask yourselves why "why is she doing all of those busy tasks?" I'll tell you why! DS (Deliciously Sew) has another event! Another Craft show, and I'm so excited. Why haven't I shared this before now!? Anyway, it's kind of a big event in the South Georgia/North Florida area. It's called Mule Day, and there isn't a whole lot of info or even an address out there, but if you're in the area/familiar with Mule Day you should come! There are hundreds of booths and most all of the stuff is crafted by hand. Birdhouses, trashcans, swings, you name it, they have it. If you're a fan on Facebook, we're going to be offering a special for the Mule Day event, but to fans only. Or if you're on the mailing list! If you want to see what our crafty hands have been up to, we've uploaded a bunch of new items. Check it out!

Happy November! + a bucket list

I cannot believe that it's November already! I seems like we were just celebrating Dakota's first birthday. Time flies when you're having fun, I suppose. We have officially gotten into my favorite time of year. I love when October rolls around for many reasons: cooler temperatures, Halloween, lost of birthdays, darker nights, but I especially love when November rolls around. Bean gets 3 days off work, it's Thanksgiving, it starts getting cool enough for fires (my favorite!) and everyone just generally seems to be happier. I'm excited to celebrate and make traditions with Dakota + Bean. It seems like each year we add more and more to our collection, and I love that. I found that cute little bucket list via pinterest and I think it's great! We can already cross some things off of that list. I'm going to print it out and add some more of our own traditions!
Halloween was a blast last night, I'll share pictures later today! Happy November! (We're 54 shopping days away from Christmas, eep!)

Funny Story
Before I tell you this story let me *preface* by saying that for Dakota's first birthday, her friend (coincidentally named Dakota) gave her a Dora ball pit. Similar to this one. She loves it so much. She's been known to carry all her favorite toys in their, and even take her food/snacks in there to eat.
For weeks now, Dakota has been doing this thing where whenever she needs a diaper change, she tells me herself. She either goes and gets a diaper from an easily reachable bin in her room, or she tugs at her "panties" and we know it's time for a change. Sometimes, she even lifts up her shirt and bangs on her belly, as if a 15 month old knew that's the source of it all. You're thinking yeah right. But it's true! Last Saturday we were getting ready to go somewhere and I wanted to give her a bath. This girl.loves.baths. Anyway, as the water was warming up all she had left on was a diaper. When I took off the diaper, she sprinted into her room. Normally she does like to run free, but I had never seen her so excited before. I didn't go into her room until probably a minute later, and do you know what I saw? This girl was in her ball pit, squatting, and going potty. At first I was shocked! I called Bean to hurry and come in there and get her out, but my enthusiasm (okay, horror) startled her because she quickly jumped up and got out. The ball pit is clean now, but I still can't bring myself to bring it back inside. At first, the disbelief of it all had me questioning my child. Why would she do this? But the more I think about it, every child probably potties somewhere, in or on something. And I should be proud that she is so aware so early about these bodily functions. I shouldn't 'grossed-out' at something that everyone does, all the time. I should be proud of my girl, because she is one step closer to going on a big girl potty!
I'm so curious, do you know/have a baby that has done anything remotely similar to this? Am I crazy to think she has an interest in potty training so early? Hope you have a great Thursday!

Daddy, Daughter date night
I think that I mentioned last week that Bean surprised Dakota with a coupon for a daddy/daughter date night at Chickfila; her favoriteee place. Just imagine me on the verge of tears at this sweet gesture. From what I understand, they treated them super fancy, and even took them out for a limo ride! Picture this: tiny baby dancing in the middle of a limo to Lady Gaga. Hysterical.

I am alive!
Eeeek! It's been 3 days since I've even seen a computer, 4 since I've been on one. I feel like a caveman. Kidding! It was nice to take a trip and actually enjoy the trip without being distracted with all that the internet has to offer. We got home late last night, and I was so exhausted that I just crawled into bed. Since it was late and past Dakota's bedtime, she just stayed another night with my mom. Did I mention how nice it is to have family live 20 minutes away? Today Dakota and I spent the day hanging out, playing and me getting lots of her love! I swear, it seems like she's so much bigger. Was I only gone 4 days? It was nice to be able to put all of the trip stuff away and hang out with my girl. We even got to put up some Halloween-ish decorations up outside (can't believe it's only a week away today! eep!) I plan on tonight ending with a cup of hot chocolate, some crafting, and an episode (or three!!!) of Friday Night Lights. Perfect way to come home, if you ask me! Hope your weekend was lovely.

Adventure Time!
We're going on an adventurrrre! (In my best flapjack voice possible!) Today Bean, Jared, and myself are taking a road trip, to Atlanta! As a late birthday present. I'm so excited, and it's safe to say everyone else is too. Bean and I took a road trip to ATL a few years ago for Spring Break, but since then, we haven't been back. Last time we visited everything from the World of Coke to the Georgia Aquarium and all the space between. And this little trip won't be any different.
I planned this entire trip around these two ideas: one + two. I've been known to throw a 'scavenger hunt' or some type of handmade/adventure into every birthday Bean has, but never fixed on an entire place. (Oh, except Disney World!) When I saw these two great ideas, I knew it was something I wanted to recreate. I'll show you the booklet when we get back, but I've compiled lots of different places to find in order to make sure we see all that Atlanta has to offer. I.am.SO.excited! Did I say that already? While we are there, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for an I-Zone. I bought 6 packs of film for a camera I don't own!

Havana Pumpkin Festival!
This past Saturday we headed over to Havana, a charming, small town on the outskirts of Tallahassee for their annual Pumpkin Festival. Despite it being warmer then I would have liked, and lots of bodies, it was fun! It is an antique town. The main street is lined with brick storefronts, cobblestone paths, and hand painted displays. Like I said, it's so charming!
Before I had Dakota, Bean and I would go up their often on Fridays and browse all the shops. Making sure we ran our fingers across everything, and took it all in. Saturday was no different! Dakota was perfectly well-behaved and hardly made a peep unless we were outside. And to top the day off, I spotted 3 Pugs and countless Boston Terriers! (In case you didn't already know, those are my dream dogs!) Angela sent me a picture of two buggies full of Pugs, kind of bummed I didn't see that though! All in all, it was such a fun day! Hopefully we're adding it to our ever growing list of Fall Traditions ♥

So I have recently found my stash of cards as I used to call them. I probably have 30 or so, and they're just sitting in a box. 5 of my favorites are matted, but not framed. I used them in my AP Portfolio art class in high school, otherwise, those probably wouldn't be partially framed either. I don't think I have enough leisure time to mat and frame them, a. because I don't have a paper cutter, and b. because I don't want 30+ frames in my house.
My question for you is: how should I display these? Should they all be randomly distributed throughout the house? Because that's how the 5 that are "framed" are displayed now. But I really enjoy looking at these, so I want to be able to see them often. Should they all be on some mass collaboration? HELP! It's been years and I haven't done anything with them, boo.
