Gym, Eat, Craft, Repeat

*us getting psyched for the gym*

I'm so excited because my gym is giving me the upgraded card treatment and I'm allowed to invite a guest for the next 3 days! I have no idea why, but I'm jumping at the chance because I've always wanted Bean to go with me.

We normally go to Bean's dads for dinner every Wednesday and then visit at his moms for a bit, but tonight was the only night we could fit the gym in both of our schedules. So we set up a little spend the night party at Gigi's, (my mom) and they came to get her right after my brother was done being in a commercial! It's for a local karate school that he went to for a bit and they liked him so much they asked him to be in a commercial so of course he said yes! Go Noah!

Anyway, since Dakota is staying at my moms, after we work hard at the gym (as hard as I can, because yesterday I broke my toe!) were going to bring home El Jalisco, a Mexican restruant, or pizza and watch this movie my mom gave us called The Fifth Quarter. It's a football movie and Bean loves those, so while were watching that (him more than me) I'll be crafting!

On a Deliciously Sew note, were trying to finish editing all our photos so we can send them to KaelahBee and the Honeybean and hopefully she will want to sell our stuff in her mobile shoppe!

Sunday Funday, on a Monday

This little scripture has been heavy on my heart the last few days, and I just thought I'd share. Praise Jesus for never giving up on me! And that typography is just so pretty, love.

I didn't get a chance to blog yesterday because I was so busy snapping photos for Deliciously Sew! Angela and myself spent a good chunk of the afternoon into the evening taking photos and ordering packaging supplies etc. We played with a lot of props and different scenes and I can't wait to show you! We even created our business paypal, although that was quite the ordeal. All we need to do now is decided where we will set up shop! (facebook, try and sell local, etsy, all of the above, etc.) Everything is coming together and we both couldn't be more excited!

*how cute is she running away with our basket?*

Songbird Saturday

I'm happy to announce that 'Songbird Saturday' will be a weekly feature! Each Saturday I'll post a song, or a few, that I'm either really into at that moment or maybe one that's describing my mood, or just one I've loved. Who knows where the music will take me!

This weeks first up is City and Colour. I've loved Dallas Green, and City and Colour for quite sometime now. His voice is like butter and their songs fit the bill for any and every emotion you may be feeling. He's honest in his songwriting and there is such a pureness that I really enjoy! This is off of their newest album Little Hell, and I haven't had a chance to buy it yet, but I know I will soon! They have 2 others which you can purchase from their website.  Right now, I cannot get the playlist to work properly on the blog, so I'll post from YouTube today until I get it up and running. Without further ado:

Friday Night Lights! (image heavy)

Tonight we had a family outing. We grabbed dinner, 2 1/2 hours later, and headed to a Block Party our little town was putting together. The capital thought it would be a good idea to invest in a few surrounding streets where the local businesses thrive and so far it looks like they're doing a good job. It's only Phase 1, but it was nice. Except the lighted palm tree medians...do we really need that? We spent a good hour or so browsing booths, shops, and listening to a local Ska band. It was fun! We left when we realized it was quiet a bit later than a little girls bed time!

I took my first "outfit photos" tonight, so maybe if I don't laugh myself out of posting them, I'll do it tomorrow!

In with the Intro

*Bean + Dakota + Me*

I suppose I've put this post off long enough, (an entire four days, yes I know it's madness) so where to begin?  I'm a young stay at home mama of a 13 month old little girl named Dakota Moon. This little girl is a riot! She's incredibly sweet, and loves making people laugh. She's my world. A lot like her daddy, Bean! I'm so lucky to be making a family with my best friend! Bean and I both have really close families that both live in town. We are so lucky. It's not unusual to find us spending time with them 3/4 nights out of them week. I've got a huge family and I love that we are all so close. I hope to instill that into all of my children because, at the end of the day, all your really have is your family.

I was born and raised (mostly) in Florida, except for a 3 year blip where we lived in Okinawa, Japan! That will always be one of my most fond memories. I have one brother, and I've been lucky enough to inherit a whole other family through Bean.

Lets see, I have 3 tattoos, (7 if you count the ones I did myself in high school, but that's for another day)  two of which have very special meaning to me. I like books, owls, Russian dolls, and cameras. We have a big collection of plastic and non. I love the idea of organization and being an organized person, but I loose just about anything of importance on the daily. Think: my iphone, keys, wallet, purse, grocery list i JUST wrote, etc.

Anyway, enough chatter. After reading this you'll probably think I'm a hair-brained girl who has tattoos and carries her baby + camera around everywhere with her. I supposed that's a little true, but stick around and you'll find that there's a bit more to me than that!

I got to say, today was a good day

Today was such a heart-fulfilling day! I had originally planned to post a proper introduction, but I'm sure that will just have to wait until tomorrow!

Dakota and myself spent the day with my mama, and as soon as Bean came home from work we were on the road to my sisters new school. They were looking for someone to watch the kiddos after school so I applied. It's only for two hours a day, and I think it would give Bean and Dakota a little extra time together. There is a park seriously adjacent to the school so they'd probably spend their time there.

Anyway, back to the best day! After we applied, we got to see Angela's new classroom! We had a trip to target which is probably my favorite place ever! It's so fun just to walk around and browse. In the heat of my browsing, I found the cutest coat in the kids section. And do you know what's nice about the kids section? It's cheaper!

After I had to be dragged out of target kicking and screaming, we made our way to our local Borders. I feel sad frequenting it so much lately because of the low (no, I really mean low; like 50-70% off low) prices, but it really is such a great deal. I balance all the bad feelings out by telling myself that I went there and was a loyal customer before they were closing and that I'm adding to our ever growing library collection! I remembered that we were out of milk for Dakota so I picked up some and a yummy avocado to add to our plan of quesidillas tonight, and boy were they yummy! I just got back from an hour long bike ride with my BFF/sister Angela. It was super fun riding around town, and getting our workout in a fun way. We've already ridden twice this week, and I hope to get in at least one more time. Now I'm about to crawl into bed and watch Monk, the perfect end to a perfect day!

Progress

*excuse this mess of a bun*

As I mentioned yesterday my SIL, Angela, and myself are in the process of becoming a household name. Just kidding! But we are actually putting our crafty hands to work and coming up with cute things for you and your kiddos, heck even your grandma will want to buy this stuff! This is the first public mention of it, so promise you'll keep it a secret!

I just had to take a quick photo of the new stamp that we ordered to make this all official. We scoured different websites looking for the perfect person to create our stamp, to no avail. Thankfully, I came across 2impress, and I couldn't be any more please. They were all so helpful in getting us exactly what we needed. We handpicked two fonts and they worked it into one of their pre-maid borders. When I came home and found the stamp I squealed in delight, it's so wonderful! Did I mention that it took less than two weeks for me to place my order and then have it waiting in my mailbox? I highly recommend them, they were both friendly and professional and what a great combo that is!

Now, to start taking pictures and packaging. Fingers crossed we "launch" September 2 at First Friday!

Library Date Dress love

Can I just say how excited I am for this new line? I was so upset when Elsie debuted her spring line for Red Velvet and I missed out. That Lemon Pie dress was perfect for a picnic date, or a trip to your local bakery and it would have been more perfect with me in it! But alas, I didn't order in time. I have learned my lesson and I am bound and determined not to let this happen again. September 1 she is launching the Autumn line for Red Velvet, and trust me they sell out FAST! If you find yourself loving one of her dresses (honestly, who wouldn't) then you better get it while you can. I'm already planning to be first in the virtual line!

The Start of Something

Well, here I am. Two years prior I was debating with myself about starting a blog. Back then, I didn't really think I had anything interesting to write about. I guess I convinced myself I do. I have Dakota Moon, my adorably sweet one year old daughter. I have my Bean, who is more than I could have ever asked for.We are a little family. I'm starting school next semester, and my SIL and myself are taking a big leap and trying to start a business together. So yeah, I guess I do have a lot to write about. I am feeling so truly blessed. Now, please excuse me while I try and conquer all of my dishes, laundry, and miscellaneous duties before a little girls nap is over. Wish me luck!
