Home Alone

Tonight while Bean is away, I will be spending my time eating pizza, crafting, painting (for DS yay!), and watching Monk on Netflix. I'm excited to stay up a little late and do some fun stuff in prep for next weekend. I'm missing Bean, but he will be home tomorrow, so it's A-Okay. Did I mention that I bought 3 bags of candy corns to fill up my glass pumpkin today? No? Well I did and Dakota LOVES them! I wouldn't be surprised if they're gone in just a few days. Between her and I, there's no telling.

Hope your Friday night is inspiring!

Fridays are for:

Welcome to a new segment I'd like to call "Fridays are for:" Every Friday I'll be posting about what Fridays are for in my life. Expect to see lots of adorable pictures, cute clothes, fun diys, and links! Without Further ado, this Friday is for:

and isn't this necklace so cute? I'm pretty sure I must have it!

all images here

Gemma Correll! I've been a long time admirer of her work. She is just so lovely, as are all of her illustrations. Everything she draws is so innocent and adorable, but not without lack of a little comic relief. How awesome, right? I was lucky enough to get her "Pugs Not Drugs" shirt for Christmas last year and I just love it! She's got lots of wonderful things in her shop right now that I've got my eye on. Anything sporting a pug, I believe, is something that belongs in my closet!

I just picked a few of my favorites, but browse her blog, she has much more! I hope you fall in love with her just like I did! Happy Friday!

Tuesday; tying up loose ends.

Okay, I'm back...wasn't very long at all really!

First off, Deliciously Sew made a mini-update today! We've added quite a few things to our Seasonal album. We're really getting in the Fall spirit with pumpkins, leaves, acorns and my favorite; candy corns! We're in the Halloween spirit too though, with ghosts, cute skulls, bats and more! Check out our Facebook  for all the info and photos (more to come as soon as I put them up!)

Well, I have some wonderful news!!! We have
signed up to attend our first event! Yes folks, we are going to a craft fair! Eeeep!! We're going to be setting up shop at the 3rd Annual CEF Market. I am very excited about this event because, from reading the blog, it seems like a lot of the other booths are similar to ours. Not so similar that we won't stand out from crowd, but enough that we are reaching the type of demographic that we are hoping to reach! I've invited basically everyone I know, as has Angela. If you live in or near Tallahassee I personally invite you to come by October 8th and visit us at our booth! We'll be there from 9 to 3, with a full stock of cute things, handmade goodness, sweet treats, and big smiles! We will be the cute girls with the REALLY cute booth. Shout out to both of our hubs for doing all the behind the scenes work.

I recently found a blog that I LOVE! So when I saw she was calling for October sponsors, I knew this was my chance. I quickly grabbed up two spots, one for DS and the other for this little blog. So if you haven't read her blog yet, I'd be surprised if you hadn't, go do it now! She'll win you over with her cute outfits and 5 dollar thrifted finds! So cute.

*super cute picture for no real reason*

I'm spending my night with this guy ^ watching the Teen Mom check up with Dr. Drew (am I the only one who finds this man attractive? Please tell me no!) and making more Fall inspired things for our home and for DS! I hope you're inspired to do or make something wonderful. Have a lovely Tuesday night!

On the Run

As of late, late as in this past weekend, I realized how much I miss running. I ran Cross Country, leisurely and somewhat competitively, in high school up until my senior year and then I quit. Why did I quit again? Still trying to come up with an excuse. Fast forward 3 years and here I am just now getting back into it. What is wrong with me! I have been dilly-dallying at the gym jogging and (trying to) run on the elliptical but never really took it seriously until now. Yesterday I put on my big girl sneakers and went for a run! I came home feeling pumped, mainly due to my awesome tune selection--thanks Bean!, and ready to take on the world. I know that sounds silly but it really can make you feel better. And you know what? I did it again today! I just got back and I feel great.  I've been waiting to run until later when after Dakota is already sound asleep and it's nice. It's dark, no one else is really out, and it's much cooler than in the middle of the day. The only down side to it is that while running later helps me get sound sleep, it doesn't help me get to sleep. I didn't fall asleep until after 1 in the morning!! That is a no go for a mama with a baby that likes to wake up early. But as much as I wish I was a girl who could get up at 5 in the morning and be ready to go get her workout on, I know I am not that girl. I would really have to push myself, hard. I guess that there are still a few bugs to work out with my routine, but I'm just happy to be back! If any of you running mamas out there have any advice, I'd looove to hear it! Leave a comment or send me a tweet.

I'll be back in a bit with a few loose ends to 'tie up'!

Weekend Recap

Hi and happy Monday! I feel like it has been ages since I've posted last, when in reality its only been a day or so. It has been the nicest weekend/beginning of the week! It was busy without really having any place to go or anything specific to do. So nice!

Saturday was the free entrance to any of the National Parks day, and although we didn't go to a National Park, we did go to the Tallahassee Museum (we like to call it the Jr. Museum). We took our new to Florida neighbors. They have a baby just a few months older than Dakota so it's been so fun having someone so similar living so close. We've already set up a weekly "play-date" and we switch off going to each others house on Friday night. It's really fun and sweet to see the babies play together! After spending the afternoon at the museum looking at old Florida relics and native to Florida animals, and almost DROWNING ourselves in sweat (man it is hot down here!) we went to my moms to eat snacks and watch the game. I kind of love that, that is one of our traditions. I'm hoping to make many more this fall + winter season!

Speaking of hot weather and traditions, Sunday we spent the day tucking away summer treasures (old quilts, paper lanterns, summer pictures, and things of that sort) and started pulling out our fall favorites. I put on a big pot of soup, turned the air down to 65, and lit the first Apple Cinnamon candle of the "season". Hey, I didn't want all our Fall decorating work to go to waste! I even made my own variation of this sweet garland! It's so fun to decorate and redecorate for each season. I love the change of colors and smells, just lovely. It does not, by any means, feel like fall around here. The past few days have been either very overcast/rainy and humid, or sunny and humid. Yuck! Mrs. Mother Nature, pretty please blow some crisp air down this way! I've got a few more things to do before it's finished, but I'm excited. I'll share photos sometime this week. Hope your Monday is wonderful!

Songbird Saturday #5 (way late!)

Oh no! I can't believe time slipped away from me today. We had a really busy day today. The good kind of busy, not the 'I'd rather be doing anything else' type of busy. I'll talk more about that tomorrow, but it was a nice day. I wanted to squeeze this post in before it's officially tomorrow. I've got three minutes to spare! These are all good ole' favorites. Maybe you'll know some, or maybe you'll find a new favorite. Hope your Saturday was lovely. Enjoy!

ps, the Ryan Adams song has special meaning to Bean and I. If we had a "song" that would surly be it!

What I wore: Backyard Shenanigans

Is anyone getting tired of these? I hope not, because I could do this all.day.long! I took these photos the other day when they boys were inside playing with Dakota and dinner (lasagna) was in the oven cooking. The house was clean and I didn't have anything else to do, say whaa? It was really nice out that day, but today it's nasty, stormy and rainy. This morning our power was out for an hour and that's no fun when you have a baby and have to get ready for your day!

ps, that nice spill on the front of my skirt; little hands tend to grab onto long skirts and demand to be picked up!

Outfit Details: Skirt, thrifted//Shirt, vintage tee, thrifted//Belt, thrifted
Shoes, Gap//Owl Necklace, Forever 21//Polish, Pink ShatterBlue Undercoat

Tonight we're getting together for my Aunt's birthday which was yesterday. Lots of laughs, pictures, presents, and key lime pie? Yes please!

Something Lovely + an Update

It's true, you are so so lovely. Hi and happy Thursday! Thursday is only one day away from Friday, and Friday is the weekend! I love the weekends because we get to spend lots of time together as a family! We've been hooked on watching Friday Night Lights this week and I'm pretty sure we'll be putting a dent into this season this weekend. It's the perfect mix of love, sports, and drama!

Update News: (!!!) It's so exciting to say that Deliciously Sew has update news! We've finally got all of our business ducks in a row, and now we're just waiting for our creative ducks to follow. AKA, we've gotten all of our business taken care of, now we just need to practice our table set up. We're still kickin' it with the Facebook, so go like us if you haven't yet! We have some events set up for the near future, so keep your eyes peeled! You can hear all the news first via our facebook, but I promise I'll blog about it too. This whole experience is exciting!

What I wore: Gameday!

*me, Audrey, and Angela proudly reppin' our team*

Outfit Details: Sweater, Forever 21//Shirt, oooold//Shorts + Suspenders, Forever 21//
Owl Necklace, Forever 21//Shoes, ?// Bows, handmade by Deliciously Sew

I'm not sure about you, but when I think about football I think about fall! The colors, the weather, the inspiring feelings, and most of all, the clothes. This weekend was a big game for us! I woke up early Saturday to such a cool, crisp, fall feeling morning. I knew I had to have the perfect "outfit" to match my feelings for the upcoming football game and the weather. I made 3 special bows the night before and I kind of based my
"look, if you will" off of that. My bow was garnet, and I knew I had this mustard-y gold sweater that would make up my team colors! (garnet + gold) When I found this shorts + suspenders combo I knew it would be perfect for gameday! It's corduroy, rich brown and screams  fall to me. I've always wanted to wear suspenders, but always been self conscious about them. They were overall really comfortable and super cute! I can't wait to pair some orange tights under these when it actually gets a little cooler. One of my fall staples for sure!

On a unrelated note; Dakota is teething again. Yikes! She's got all the symptoms of a teething baby: runny nose, cranky, upset tummy, can't stay asleep at night, and a temperature. Teething is the pits I tell ya! It's taking a toll mostly on her, and it makes me so sad knowing there isn't really anything I can do for her. She's due for some extra loving and squeezing the next few days/weeks. I'm off to fix dinner, Jared is coming over for our weekly (last) Teen Mom extravaganza. It's the Finale, there might be a tear, or three. Hope your Tuesday is lovely!

Today is the day!!!!

*our stamp in the works!*

Erhum, well, tonight is the day! We finally did it! After hours of trying to figure it out, countless questions, loads of laughs and depressing shrieks, we finally did it. We launched our Facebook! Deliciously Sew now has a Facebook showcasing all of our hard work. We've taken an oath of silence, swearing never to speak of the terrible misfortunes we had tonight trying to "launch" our page. But by the grace of God, it just finally worked. Praise Jesus!!! If you could do me a favor and go like our page, we'd be ever so grateful! We've got a handful of places that we're going to be showcasing our handmade goodness and we're so excited.

Here is a photo of us from earlier jumping for our future joy! I just can't say enough how excited we are! It's a late late night here, but we checked everything off our list and more.

What I wore: Lunch + Errands

Outfit Details: Shirt, thrifted//Jeans, Target//Shoes, Wanted Shoes, Scarf, Country Dollar
Owl Ring, Country Dollar//Bag, Dooney + Bourke vintage thrifted

This is what I wore when I went on a sushi date with my mom and out and about running errands.Nothing special, but this girl loves a good pair of jeans and let me tell you, those sandals are my favorite! I got them when Wanted was having their bogo shoe sale! They're so comfy and super cute. There is this store we have called the Country Dollar, not sure if you have one or not, but everything is 1.00! Some of their stuff can actually be really cute, hello blue leopard print scarf and orange owl ring! If you're looking for quality this place is a no go, but if you're looking for really cheap costume jewelry, they've got everything your looking for!

The creative geniuses for Deliciously Sew (Angela and me!) just got together, so we're going to do some planning. Yay! Happy Saturday!!

Songbird Saturday #4

Yay, it's that time of week again! Can I just say how much I love putting together playlists? I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy putting them together!

This week's playlist features Dear & the Headlights, one of my favorite bands! They have two amazing CDs, both of which I am constantly listening to! They're one of those bands that has great music, but even more great lyrics.

I was lucky enough to have seen them at Warped Tour '09. They put on such a great show and everyone was singing along and dancing. I'm so sad to say that in July of this year they put out a letter saying they were no longer going to make music together. Talk about heartbroken! If you find that you like them as much as I do and want to get your hands on some of their music you can here. I've actually got my eye on one of their shirts for Christmas! If you were hoping they had some sort of demos type of CD and you didn't see one, don't fret! They released this and now you can download freely all of their demos! I did, and love it!

Friday Happenings

*Us in the ESPN College Gameday tour bus!*

Hi and happy Friday night! I guess just writing that post yesterday put me in better spirits because today was, well, awesome! I had a sushi lunch date with my mom and aunt, so yum. Little secret: I never get sushi, I always get vegetable tempura, I don't actually care for sushi. (gasp!) But it was a fun girls date, and I found out Dakota really loves lettuce. Weird, I know, but it's all she would eat!

Dakota and I had lots of errands to run, including stops at Joanne's, Hobby Lobby, and Target, seriously my favorite places! I went to Target hoping to score a Missoni bag. I foolishly didn't get it the first day and now it's safe to say I probably will not. Boo! At Joanne's and Hobby Lobby I picked up some supplies for Deliciously Sew! You guys, it's together!!! I'll blog more on that tomorrow, but I can happily say, we have done everything we set out to do before our launch and now we're just waiting on time

When Bean got off work, we headed over to Home Depot where the ESPN College Gameday guys had their tour bus and a bunch of tents with activities set up. People were painting signs in hopes of winning tickets. I'm telling you, if he could, Bean would have painted 400 signs trying to win those tickets!

After all the fun and errands, we filled our bellies with all you can eat mac'n'cheese pizza and had a play date with the neighbors before bed. Now I've got a to-do list that's a mile long and I'm about to tackle some of it. I hope your day was just what you hoped it would be!

ps- I took outfit photos again! Nothing fancy, but oh so fun. I'll share tomorrow!

Absentee

This week has been, well, one of those weeks. Nothing about it was particularly upsetting or anything like that, it's just been long and dragged out. I've felt so sluggish, tired, and meh, even if I got well over my 8 hours of sleep. Do you ever  feel that way? I don't get that way often, but when I do it gets the best of me and I find myself being more lazy, less social, and grumpy. I have to snap myself out of it by doing something fun, dancing to some really awesome music, and putting on something cute. I need to remind myself that life is, frankly, just too short to be feeling this way and I need to appreciate the Here & Now.

This little town is under a lot of press, and it should be just what I need to wake up from my sleepy daze! If your not into college football, pretend you are for the next few minutes....ESPN College Game Day is here, in our little town! Something about we have the most tradition, so fun! And they're here giving things away, doing interviews and all sorts of other neat things. Now, this is Bean's DREAM I tell 'ya! He is so so excited. He probably won't sleep from now until Sunday, but that's okay because I love seeing him excited! We aren't actually going to the game, but we're going to his moms Saturday night to watch it. There will be lots of yummy food, lots and lots of cornhole (mine + Bean's favorite), and some appropriate themed cupcakes made by yours truly!

Just thinking about all of the fun gets me feeling better! Putting things in perspective really helps me a lot. Hope your Thursday night turns into a lovely Friday, and leads you into a wonderful weekend!

What I wore: Red, White, and Pugs?

Outfit Details: Shirt, thrifted//Skirt, Target-years ago//Pugs Not Drugs shirt, dELiAs + Gemma Correll Shoes, Target-also so old//Necklace, Forever 21//Ring, Claires (can't find it on their website)

I finally put on my big girl pants and decided to do a 'What I Wore' post! It was very fun, and we probably took too many photos, (actually, we did, I filled up my card!) but that's okay right? Kudos to Bean for putting up with my brief second of diva when taking these photos! I just wanted them to be perfect, you understand. All in all, he's a great sport and I hope to do more of these in the future with my cuter outfits.

I wore this over to my moms Sunday night. Her BFF, Mrs. Tricia and her husband Steve stopped by on their way to Mississippi, and we had dinner with them. I love when we can all get together!

I haven't mentioned  it, but for the past TWO WEEKS our internet hasn't been working! Yikes, I know. I've been able to blog by visiting my moms house a lot, but it's been tough not to have internet. Anyway, after two weeks of back and fourth (them planning to come fix it, and then not, on four separate occasions!!!!) our internet is back on! All they had to do was reset the modem, my word! Monday night is our "shows" night. We watch American Pickers and Pawn Stars, and later Monk, so fun!

Sunday Funday: Bits + Pieces.

1. coffee table and a very mobile baby
2. very messy desk, pre-clean
3. organizing my closet
4. bed + twinkle lights
5. sneak peak of ds
6. pretty felt
7. closet organized!

I found this lovely idea via Ms. James and I think it's just swell! This Sunday has been relaxed and my moms BFF and husband are here so we're eating and chatting at her house. It's really nice to have them here for a short time! I love when they get together because they get so silly and stay up for hours talking and drinking coffee. It reminds me of when I was younger, and I love seeing them happy!

I'm thinking about doing this little thing every Sunday. It didn't take much (7 photos) for me to feel so thankful and extremely blessed. I'm sure everyone could use a little refresher every once and a while, especially me! I know the week tends to get away with me sometimes and I need to remind myself to find my greatest pleasures in my family, and the sweet little things in my life.
